About Me
I am now retired, but my career began many years ago as an archaeologist, including a stint with the Mary Rose Trust. Afterward, I spent 20 years in the greeting card industry, collaborating with numerous talented artists and illustrators, although I wasn’t personally involved in creative work. It wasn’t until I finished full-time work that I found the time to pursue art. I subsequently completed a foundation in art and design and a BA Fine Art. Those four years truly broadened my understanding of creative practise but I only started painting in earnest in 2021.
The internet has been an invaluable resource, offering access to teachers and communities that have taught me so much about how to paint in a way I find liberating and immensely satisfying. I am still experimenting and developing my process as I explore new ideas and places.
My Studio
I have a beautiful painting studio at home, designed and built by my husband Mike.
It’s a sanctuary and a place where I can work and chat with other artists. Every year for a couple of weekends in September I open the studio up to visitors – it’s always lovely to talk to people who are interested in art.
